Adidas and Puma on Peace One Day

Im not 100% sure what to think of this. Part of me thinks its great, a great way to get two big brands involved, then part of me thinks it kind of belittles what some people have to go through in the world. What do you think?

  1. I don’t think it belittles anyone. The sad reality of our world is that without large corporate partners, creating any real, ‘actionable’, awareness is almost impossible.

I think this is a wonderful initiative – but they need several more major corporate partners (and/or well known philanthropic individuals) with international reach and influence.

I think it has some interesting potential – both in terms of how corporate can leverage it and the potential to reach around the globe and actually save lives. Then again, I was recently called “relentless cheerful”… so you may want to take my .02 with a grain of salt.

    • Laurie,

Thanks for the comment. I think its a wonderful initiative too and I am all over the corporate involvement, in fact i love what Coke did, branding on their cans and they gave up their site on Picadilly’s famous billboard. I love the idea of adidas and puma coming together for this, the handshake thing just left me a little cold, maybe if there had been more to it that just two CEO’s shaking hands in a field!

I would take relentless cheerful as high praise…..better than my constant cynic!!

Thanks for reading and your thoughts
